Week 19: Banish Acne Scars

Welcome back beautiful people!
I hope you all had an excellent long weekend :) I'm not too sure what it is like in other countries but this past weekend was the Victoria Day long weekend so I got to see some fireworks and be with family and what not.  This past Saturday was also my little cousin's First Communion and for those of you who aren't familiar with what that is it's basically when a child is in grade 2 and they receive the Body of Christ for the first time.  I found this quote in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and it says, "The principal fruit of receiving the Eucharist in Holy Communion is an intimate union with Christ Jesus. Indeed, the Lord said: 'He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.' Life in Christ has its foundation in the Eucharistic banquet: 'As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.'"  Needless to say, my cousin felt like a "big girl" and even told me she's too old for her car seat now because she has had her first communion.  *sigh* Ah, the innocence!
From left to right: Mama Glynn, Jon (twin brother), Adam (older brother), ME, Papa Glynn and the little girl in front of us is my little cousin! She looked like such a princess that day ❤
I love sharing little bits of my personal life every now and then because I feel like it is just another way for you to get to know me a little better!  Now, back to the Banish Acne Scars Week 19 update!  The before pictures provided for this week's update were taken from Week 7 and as you can see my chin is starting to get better and better each and every week.  You can also notice some of the red spots that I had on my temples/forehead area are almost completely gone which is great!
The right side of my face (the pictures below) however has been acting up recently.  I don't know if it is something new that was incorporated in my diet or what the heck is going on, but I have been having some new spots appear.  The two big red spots below my eye and above my beauty mark have been pretty stubborn and don't seem to want to leave my face.  Apparently they like their home there? Pfff, lucky me.....

It's amazing what a difference mascara can do eh? Here I'm wearing my Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara in Very Black and L'Oreal's Telescopic Mascara in Black (my holy grail mascara combo).  Don't you love how I just turned this acne related post into a make-up one. The before pictures provided are from Week 7 and the after pictures are obviously from this week (Week 19) so that's a difference of 12 weeks!  As always, my pictures are never retouched or edited in any way.  The only thing I do is crop them so that you don't see my embarrassing pj's or my bra/boobies haha!

Week 18: Banish Acne Scars

Welcome back wonderful people!
Happy belated Mother's Day to all the mama's out there! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day with your loved ones last week.  I know I am very late with my uploads and honestly it's for selfish reasons.  I have been enjoying myself over the past couple of weeks because I have been so stressed out with work and I just needed some time to recuperate.  Now that I have some time on my hands, enjoy the posts that I have to share with you.

Even though I have not been uploading regularly, I made sure to keep my photos up-to-date so that way you can see the progress.  In regards to my acne, I feel as though my skin right now is at a plateau.  And what that means is that my skin is at a standstill.  It's not really getting worse but it isn't really getting better either; it is sort of just doing it's thing.  For any acne sufferers out there, you know how discouraging this phase is (I say "phase" because I am hoping it is just a phase....).  Now, onto the before & after pictures!
There have been many new scars that have popped up which you can't really tell in the head-on pictures above but will be able to see them better in the left side and right side photos.  I think it's funny how whenever I fade 3 or 4 spots, 3 or 4 new spots pop up.  And when I say funny, I actually think it's quite annoying lol.

I love how this set of pictures (above ^) really show the difference that the Banish Acne Scars system has been making on my forehead and chin area.  Like I have said before, I think that because the skin is thinner in these areas than it is on the cheeks, it is easier for the scars to "banish."  However, as you can see... I still have quite a lot of scars that I am dealing with on my cheeks.
Again, similar to the set of pictures listed above, you can see the difference in the before & after of my chin and forehead area.  These pictures are about a 14-15 week difference so it's crazy to see how well the kit is actually working.  However, I can't stress this enough (at least in my case), you will not see dramatic results overnight!  I didn't start to see the results until a month after using the system.  Of course everyone is different, I'm just saying that trying to fade your acne scars is going to take time and you must stick with it!

Hope you enjoyed Week 18's post and as always if you have any comments, concerns,  and/or questions, feel free to list them down in the comments!

Week 17: Banish Acne Scars

Welcome back lovely people!
I know I say this almost every time, but I truly do hope you all are having a wonderful day/night!  The weather lately has been so nice and to think it's only May is a great feeling! I mean, it can only get hotter from here, right?  I can't stress enough how important sunscreen and water is during these hotter months though, so don't forget the lotion and stay hydrated throughout the day!
It is especially important to use sunscreen when trying to fade/diminish the look of your acne scars during the summer months.  Also, if you are using the Banish Acne Scars kit like I am, make sure you don't forget your sunblock!!  It’s very important to avoid sun exposure after applying any Vitamin C serum, as your skin will be more sun-sensitive and vulnerable to re-darkening and hyper-pigmentation then. To eliminate this risk, I apply the serum only in the evenings or before going to bed at night.
As for my progress with the system, I feel like I sound like a broken record half the time.  The results are showing, only it's at a slow rate.  Also, I've noticed that some areas of my face tend to fade faster than others.  For example, the acne scars that I have on my cheeks tend to take longer than the ones I have on my forehead.  I'm guessing that it has to do with the amount of fat/layers of skin in those areas?  I feel as though the skin on my forehead is thinner than the skin on my cheeks so maybe that is why it is taking longer?  Of course I'm not a doctor so I can't say whether that is true or not but that's just my logic.
As you can see in my scary looking mug shot, I've had a couple new spots appear (on the left side of my chin, left side of my cheeks, and a slight spot on the left side of my forehead).  I would say that the most discouraging thing about fading acne scars, especially with girls, are the hormonal spots that come up during "that time of the month."  It's hard trying to fade your scars when you have new spots coming in every month, but hey, what can you do? The Banish Acne Scars system is working though!  The before pictures posted below are from Week 5 and the after shots are obviously from this week.

It is important to know that if you are using the Banish Acne Scars system, you will see results over time.  This system does not deliver overnight miracles!  However, over time (as you can see in my photos) the roller and serum do a great job at reducing the size and pigment of my acne scars.
