Week 39: Banish Acne Scars

Welcome back amazing people!
Let's quickly discuss the elephant in the room.....
I have been M.I.A.

Between getting ready/packing for Vegas, working, and a crap ton of events, and getting back into the swing of things school related, I have definitely neglected this baby and YOU GUYS.  I swear I didn't forget about any of you though; just super busy and not the best multi-tasker.  For those of you who don't know, I went to EDC Las Vegas which is the biggest music festival/rave in North America and it was honestly such an amazing time.  If it is still not checked off your own bucket list, I highly recommend checking it out!
Onto the actual subject of the blog post though, my skin! Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed that my diet plays a direct role in the way my skin looks and acts. Many people think that if they are using the best acne fighting products, their skin will magically become acne-free. While this may be the case for a small few (aka the lucky ones), majority of skin problems are a direct result of what you are actually putting into your body, not onto it. I plan to write another blog post on this topic in more detail though so keep an eye out for that.
However, let's discuss the actual content of this week's blog post!  As you can see there have been many changes in my skin over the past year and a half (eyebrows have also gotten progressively thinner lol). It's crazy to look at these pictures because to this day I still don't think my skin is perfect, however, looking at how far I've come I'd say we're getting pretty close to it.
Majority of the spots on my forehead have cleared up to the point where they almost look like freckles to those who didn't know me a few years ago. Some would have never thought that I actually had acne on my forehead but I did (the proof is right there).
In my opinion, the scars on the sides of my face are the longest to fade.  This is partially because the skin is a lot more "meaty" in these areas.  However, looking at the before and after pictures (taken back in the beginning of 2015), you can definitely tell a difference. There are some spots that are so small that they look like freckles and others that reveal where I had active breakouts in the past.

My chin and jawline have definitely come a long way in terms of fading the scars that were left behind.  There are some still peaking through but it is all about the process.  I've found that sometimes in life the actual journey is more rewarding than the end product.  Don't get me wrong, I still cannot wait until my skin is all cleared up but the journey to get there has taught me so many valuable lessons.  Said lessons include: being comfortable in the skin you are in, knowing that it's just acne and majority of people will experience it at some point in their lives.  Always remember that the acne and scars on your face do not define who you are as a person.
